D'Agostino confirmed president of the Port of Trieste
TRIESTE – The Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Paola De Micheli, confirms Zeno D’Agostino president of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea for another four-year term.
The manager, an expert in logistics, has been chairing the Authority since 2015, first as commissioner and then as president by decree of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. He was at the head of Assoporti – the association of Italian ports - from 2017 to 2019, while in November 2020 he was re-elected vice president of ESPO (European Sea Ports Organization). Today Trieste is the first Italian port for tonnage and rail traffic, the ninth European port, and the first oil terminal in the Mediterranean, as well as an important hub for traffic with the Far East and for the ro-ro sector with Turkey: a European-level port, as is confirmed by the large number of foreign investors with strong intermodal relations, so much so that 8 railway companies, mostly foreign, operate in the Trieste port.
