TMT welcomes 600 visitors for the Port Open Day
TRIESTE - Trieste Marine Terminal opened its gates to the almost 600 visitors who, on 27 May 2018, took part in the Port Open Day organized by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea.
Blessed by an early summer day people of all ages, including many children, had a chance to visit sites that are normally inaccessible by the public. A guided tour started from the Lloyd’s Tower and had its first stop at TMT, where visitors could see trains under operations, the loading and unloading of containers from the vessels and ro-ro berthed on the quay, and pass very close to the gigantic yellow cranes that are visible from every corner of the city and that could now be seen from very close.
Trieste Marine Terminal staff illustrated with enthusiasm the main business strategies actually in place, besides the core services offered to its clients, and spanned from the functions of the different types of containers and vehicles on yard, to the meaning of the technical words mostly in use at the Terminal.
The Open Day initiative has been warmly welcomed by all participants, confirming the goal once more hit by the Port Authority together with its Concessionaries: bringing the citizens closer to their Port by involving them in its present growth and future investments, all aimed at significant returns on the whole territory of Trieste.
