Free Port of Trieste, the celebrations for the 300 years anniversary begin
TRIESTE - On March 18, 1719, Emperor Charles VI established the Free Port of Trieste. A "license" that has changed the course of the history of the city and also of the Habsburgempire and of the European markets.
In these three centuries, in fact, the Port has played a fundamental role in trade relations between the Old Continent and the East, starting for example with the development of traffic that boosted after the opening of the Suez Canal. Starting from March 18th, several events will take place in Trieste to celebrate the 300 years anniversary with an eye to the future of the Port, one of which will be organized by the Port Authority of Trieste and the Terminal and Logistics operators of the Port in the coming months, to celebrate with customers and business partners.
