MSC SPEEDS UP THE FAR EAST AND TURKEY TRANSIT TIMES TO TRIESTE

With effect from February 1st 2011 a fourth service to Trieste has been added by MSC to further improve the connection with TMT and strongly speed up the transit times from the Far East and from Turkey.

As far as the Far East traffics are concerned, MV St. Vincente (1513 teus capacity) will regularly and directly link Gioia Tauro with Trieste in  2 days only, allowing the cargo from Far East to quickly reach TMT without any additional port call in between.
Some examples of the new transit times are reported here below:
To Trieste from: Singapore 18 days, Chiwan 23 days, Hong Kong 24 days, Yantian 25 days, Xiamen 27 days, Shanghai 28 days.

As far as the Turkish traffics are concerned, the present service will not call Gioia Tauro anymore, directly connecting Izmir, Gemlik and Istanbul to Trieste with the following weekly rotation:  Trieste, Koper, Ravenna, Venezia, Izmir, Gemlik, Istanbul, Trieste.

Strong improvement has been recorded also on the Transit time from Middle East, India and South America.
