TMT keeps growing in container (+8%) and trains (+21%)

The total volumes handled at Trieste Marine Terminal during the first four months of 2016 have been more 153.000 teu, recording a +8% compared to the same period of 2015. Import (+14%) and export (+8%) full containers growth explains the positive total performance, with intermodal cargo flows confirming a rising trend compared to last year.

The total volumes moved by rail during January-April period grew by 21% compared to the same months of 2015, with international cargo rising up by 62%. Austria (+22%), South Germany (+38% Ulm+Munich+Burghausen ) and Hungary (new connections not existing in 2015) explain the above data and confirm Trieste to move in the right direction to gain shares on its natural markets in Central and Eastern Europe. The announced Budapest block train third weekly departure is expected to further strengthen the Trieste presence and commercial action in Hungary starting from week 20th.
