Pier VII: two cranes with an outreach of 21 rows after the upgrading

TRIESTE- The upgrading phase of the second crane of Trieste’s container terminal has been carried out in the past few days. Now the cranes are able to operate the new generation vessels up to 16.000 teus, confirming Trieste as one of the top terminal in the Adriatic able to handle such kind of big ships.

That also shows a strong commitment to investments that both Trieste Port Authority and Trieste Marine Terminal have.
The two cranes now have an outreach of 21 rows. The electronic system of the cranes provided by “Siemens” has been also revised and improved with the installation of the “smart landing” software resulting in better control of loading operations.
The upgrading operations are being conducted by Cimolai Technology in Padua with Port Cranes srl of Reggio Emilia.
