Free Port of Trieste, the celebrations for the 300 years anniversar begin
TRIESTE - On March 18, 1719, Emperor Charles VI established the Free Port of Trieste. A "license" that has changed the course of the history of the city and also of the Habsburg empire and of the European markets.
In these three centuries, in fact, the Port has played a fundamental role in trade relations between the Old Continent and the East. Just think about the development of traffic that occurred with the opening of the Suez Canal. Starting from March 18th, several happenings will take place in Trieste to celebrate the 300 years anniversar and to look forward to the future of the Port. Among them, in the next months an event will be organized by the Port Authority of Trieste and the Terminal and Logistics operators of the Port to celebrate together with customers and business partners. Program and invitations will follow soon.
