Trieste Marine Terminal, record days for break bulk

TRIESTE - Record loading and unloading in the past 24 hours by Trieste Marine Terminal, which confirms the upward trend in the break bulk sector.

With the aim to implement specialized services, TMT, historically dedicated to container traffic, keeps supporting the growing demand from the main carriers, to operate on break bulk cargo even of significant size and weight. With weekly handling of project cargoes on oceanic and transhipment service vessels with origin or destination in the Far East ports, the goods coming or going throughout Europe can take advantage of fast services and competitive transit times. On 10 and 11 August, important movements were concentrated. In particular, the hauling of a 24-meter-long yacht weighing 57 tons and over 12 meters high, multiple loading of four 47-ton diesel engines, the discharge of a 90-ton eccentric drive shaft and the boarding of a 52-ton machine.
The experience and competence of the TMT break bulk cargo dedicated Team have allowed the series of special loads to be handled smoothly and on time, despite the simultaneous operation of the containers, with two ocean-going vessels moored at the dock at the same time.
