STARTED THE WORKS FOR THE UPGRADING OF THE TMT’S QUAY CRANES

With effect from the beginning of December, Trieste Marine Terminal started the works for the upgrading of two of TMT’s quay cranes to “enlarge” the cranes geometrical capacity up to 20 rows width and 7 tiers high.

This important investment is part of the TMT’s strategy finalized to a continuous improvement of the infrastructure and of the services provided and will allow Trieste Marine Terminal, within a short time, to better serve the ships presently calling TMT and the future bigger vessels hopefully deployed on the Adriatic route.

The upgrading of the two cranes will be carried out directly at the terminal quay on a dedicated works site, one after the other; the delivery of the first crane is foreseen within June/July 2013 and the second will be redelivered within October 2013.

TMT operations have been already set up in order to avoid the above mentioned works to jeopardize the normal operational activity and we do not expect major inconveniences to occur.

In any case, TMT is and will keep working in order to guarantee the standard service level during the works for the cranes upgrading.
